Katrina

You know what's happening in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and other states.
I read, among other news, about companies donating charity in the relief effort.
Companies like Walmart, that gave $ 1 million. Walmart was among those companies whose shops were ransacked by looters. Now, it's OK if you're looting for food or clothes, if you're starving or you don't have dry clothes, or if you're doing it for your beloved ones, but it's another thing to take electronics, such as TVs and stereos, or steal from jewelry stores. That's robbery, low-down dirty criminal act.

Thieves commandeered a forklift and used it to push up the storm shutters and break the glass of a pharmacy. (...)

Officials tried to balance security needs with saving lives.

"We're multitasking right now," said New Orleans Police Capt. Marlon Defillo. "Rescue, recovery, stabilization of looting, we're trying to feed the hungry."
Some experts predict that one million people could become homeless.
Nearly 5 million people are without electricity in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, utility companies said. Restoring power could take weeks, they warned.
Martial law was declared in the New Orleans area.

How come, when a disaster strikes other countries, the US are the first to help out, while if a disaster strikes the US, many people won't give a damn. I know that the US is a rich country, this doesn't mean that Americans would not accept or appreciate help from other countries.

I read about this:

The U.S. Embassy in Bern, Switzerland -- a capital at the foot of the Alps hit by flooding last week -- said calls were rushing in from Swiss individuals and institutions looking for a way to donate to relief efforts.'We are getting calls from the Swiss public looking to express their condolences (and) people are also asking for an account number where they can make donations,' said spokesman Daniel Wendell.

And, opposed to those who will express their sympathy for the victims, there will be those moonbats like the umpteenth Kennedy who blames Bush for the hurricane. Appalling.

I suggest all non-American readers to donate, for example, to the American Red Cross.

Italian Red Cross Deal With Terrorists Was Publicly Known Since November 2004

As you know, the Italian Red Cross hid and cured terrorists: what you maybe don't know is that this piece of news has been of public domain since November 2004, when it was published on book "Storia d’Italia. Da Mussolini a Berlusconi", written by Italian journalist and TV show host Bruno Vespa. From this book, on page 696, it was written that 4 terrorists were surgically operated on by the Italian Red Cross, as a part of a deal with hostage takers to set Simona Pari and Simona Torretta free. The book above cited also states that the Italian Government knew about this deal.

    Rebuild of Fallujah

The city is slowly rebuilding and returning to life. Some report that it's now the safest city in the Sunni Triangle due to the heavy presence of Iraqi police and army.

"On the main strip, restaurants and electronics shops are open for business. I have seen some sit down diner-type restaurants and others where people line up for food at teller-like windows. There is still a great deal of trash on the streets by Western standards but noticeably less than when we first arrived. Many people are moving back into the city and buildings are in various stages of repair. There are more vehicles on the streets; many are BMW's and Mercedes."

Cindy Sheehan: Bin Laden is "allegedly” a terrorist, Bush IS a terrorist

When asked by reporters, Sheehan said she believes that while she supports the continued hunt for Osama bin Laden she believes the U.S. should withdraw from Afghanistan and “stop bombing innocent people.” She also described Osama bin Laden as being “allegedly” behind the attacks of 9/11.

To those who have criticized her political stance, which includes allegations that the war in Iraq was “done for Israel” that George Bush is “the world’s biggest terrorist” and that al Qaeda may not be behind attacks on America, Sheehan said, “I know my son better than anyone else. I don’t want anymore of my buddies killed just because I’m dead.”

Egypt's tourist industry in general, the country's No. 1 source of foreign currency, has not collapsed as it did in 1997 when Islamic terrorists shot dead 58 people at a Pharaonic temple in the southern town of in Luxor.
"We have really bounced back," said Werner Gessner, the general manager of the Sonesta Beach Resort and Casino, which has filled 87 percent of its 520 rooms. "It is remarkable that we're recouping so quickly."

In part, the favorable numbers are due to deals that Sharm hotels and other outlets quickly started offering after the attacks. But another reason is simply that, with terrorists attacking in so many places, tourists have become less fearful.

Will Israel Become an Arab State?

Article written in 2004 by Jon E. Dougherty for NewsMax.

    Some excerpts:

"Forecasts from the United States' Population Reference Bureau show Israel's population doubling in 45 years, that of the West Bank in 21 years and that of Gaza in 15 years. In other words, Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem, and Israeli Arabs will outnumber the Jewish population by 2020."

    (...)

Arnon Soffer, a geography professor at Israel's Haifa University and a lecturer at the Israeli army's Staff and Command college, first warned of the impending Jewish demographic minority in the 1980s, but was widely dismissed. He predicted Arabs would outnumber Jews in both Israel proper and the occupied territories by 2010.

But Soffer has found favor with such Israeli notables as former Prime Ministers Binyamin Netanyahu and Ehud Barak, as well as other Israel political, social and cultural leaders. And in February 2001, the night of his election, Sharon sent an aide to ask Soffer for a copy of his 1987 treatise about the demographic threat to Israel; it was the same study that had led Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat to declare in the late 1980s that the "Palestinian womb" was his people's greatest weapon.

    (...)

Soffer says he would give the Palestinians 85 – 90 percent of the West Bank, excluding small sections just over the Green Line where the Jewish settlements are concentrated — roughly the sections now being surrounded by the new security fence. And he would also give the Palestinians East Jerusalem, with the exception of places holy to Jews like the Temple Mount and Mount of Olives. "Who needs it? Let Arafat take it and go to hell," he said.

"If such a course is carried out, there will remain within the bounds of Israel in 2020 an Arab population of 1,300,000, [while the] Jewish population will then number six million. These are statistics that a Jewish-Zionist Israel can digest," he wrote. But, if borders don't change, the Israeli Jewish population in 2020 will be 6.3 million, compared to more than 8.7 million Arabs.

The only other hope is one that seems distant – massive immigration. Sharon's plan to entice a million more Jews to Israel before 2010 will have to be modified to coincide with some sort of truce with the Palestinians, a reduction in the violence besieging the country, and economic improvements.

    Good reasons to leave Italy

This is the blog of a NY guy living in Rome, but probably not for much longer. He decided to move back to the US. I strongly suggest non-Italians interested in Italy and Italians interested in moving abroad to read it. It's a must-read. I agree with every word, every letter.

I don't like the Italian mentality. Italians have no concept of the common good. They only believe in advancing the causes of their families and friends and trampling everyone down along the way. As my girlfriend's dad once told me during one of our many man-to-man chats, the prevalent mentality here in Italy is: If I don't know you, you're not worth anything to me. And they don't care about anything. Nothing works, nothing (...)

I agree because I'm Italian, I know Italy, I know he's right, he said what I think and what I see every day when I leave my home.

I also agree because I know the difficulties of an American person trying to integrate into Italian society and into the Italian labor system, without success. By the way, that American is my wife.

Many greetings to Romanus Yankeeus, I wish him and his fiancee all the best, I wish him a happy return to the US. I can imagine how much he thought about this decision.

This post is named "Why I need to leave Italy part 1". I'm eager to read the part 2.

    Is a US-Mexican border barrier realistic ?

This blogger says yes, and it would cost $8 to $16 billion.

Able Danger, Jamie Gorelick, 9/11 e Chinagate

    *** Wall of Separation ***

Scrive White: "It is hard to be totally comfortable with instructions to the FBI prohibiting contact with the United States Attorney's Offices when such prohibitions are not legally required".

E ancora: "The most effective way to combat terrorism is with as few labels and walls as possible so that wherever permissible, the right and left hands are communicating".

Italy: Nazi Criminal in House Arrest is Let Out for Vacation

Italy is a wonderful country: we let war criminals sentenced to life get out of arrest for vacation time.

Erich Priebke was an SS officer, serving a life sentence for taking part in the murder of 335 people in 1944 in Rome.

An Italian court granted him the permit to transfer himself from his Rome residence, where he lives under house arrest, to a villa in Cardana di Besozzo, beside Lake Maggiore, in Northern Italy.

The villa is owned by the son of Herman Bickler, who was the head of the Gestapo in Paris.

The judge, Fulvio Salvatori, declared to the press that it was just a transfer of house arrest from one domicile to another.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center said that if Priebke wanted a change of scenery he should go to the Ardeatine Caves memorial, that was built in remembrance of the people he murdered there.

Today, local politicians said that Priebke decided finally to go back to Rome. Priebke's vacation is over.

    Omar Bakri arrested in Beirut

    (Source: The Times)

Bakri (...) planned to return to his home in North London, describing the visit - which came 24 hours after an announcement by Tony Blair of proposals to deport radical clerics - as a 'holiday' of between four and six weeks.

However the Government is investigating whether it has the power to prevent his return and John Prescott, the Deputy Prime Minister, yesterday told reporters that he hoped Mr Bakri Mohammed's holiday would be a "long one."

The nature of the police questioning is unclear. It is not believed to be related to an ongoing investigation by British authorities, which could lead to his prosecution for treason and permanent exclusion from the UK. He can be held for up to 72 hours without charge.

Last night Charles Clarke, the Home Secretary, said that he would refuse a request that had been received from the cleric to return to Britain for a heart operation on the NHS.

The cleric claimed to have an appointment at a London hospital for an operation to widen an artery which would cost up to £8,000 if he had to have private treatment. He said: "I have every right to come back. Britain is my home. My family are there and I have done nothing wrong."

J.Doe sarcastically says: Yeah, Britain is my home, I have the right to blow it up.

Mr Bakri Mohammed, who has collected up to £300,000 in various benefits during his 19 years in Britain, had been given leave to remain indefinitely after claiming that his life would be in danger if he returned to the Middle East.

Speaking about British terrorists, today ten islamist preachers were arrested for being deported.

Boy shot in the head by Al-Aksa Brigades as a retaliation for Jewish terrorist attack

An Israeli West Bank 10-year-old child was critically wounded after being shot in the head by Al-Aksa Brigades terrorists, as a retaliation for the attack made by Natan Eden Zada, the Jewish extremist who killed 4 on a bus in the city of Shfaram, and who was later lynched by an angry mob.

Undercover journalist records words of Islamist preachers in the aftershock of London bombings

After reading this article, published on Times newspaper, I wonder how long it will take to UK lawmakers and government to set the activities described in it illegal, and how long it will take them to kick people like Omar Bakri out of UK.

    Omar Bakri Mohammed
In the days preceeding and following the July 7th and July 21st London attacks, a Times reporter joined the "Saviour Sect" islamist group to hear and record words of hate, spanning from those of their leader, the infamous Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed, to those of the members of the sect.

The result of weeks of investigation is a scaring yet very interesting tale.

    Here are some excerpts:

On a Friday evening late in July a small group of young Asian men gathered secretly in the grounds of a Victorian manor house on the edge of Epping Forest, east of London, to listen to their master.

(...) Among them was an undercover reporter from The Sunday Times.

(...) a property run as a bed-and-breakfast and campsite by Newham borough council, was chosen (...)

Earlier that day police had arrested the remaining three suspects for the failed 21/7 London bombing. (...)

At 8pm a bulky figure with a long beard and flowing white robe picked his way across the open field in the twilight with the aid of a walking stick. Two hours late, Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed had finally arrived.

A Syrian with seven children who has lived on benefits for 18 years, this extremist cleric has been investigated by police for using inflammatory language but he has never been prosecuted.

    (...)

During a two-month undercover investigation The Sunday Times has amassed hours of taped evidence and pages of transcripts which show how Bakri and his acolytes promote hatred of “non-believers” and “egg” their followers on to commit acts of violence, including suicide bombings.

The evidence details how his group, the Saviour Sect, preaches a racist creed of Muslim supremacy which, in the words of Bakri, aims at one day “flying the Islamic flag over Downing Street”.

In his two months with the sect, our reporter witnessed a gang of Bakri’s followers brutally beating up a Muslim who challenged their views. He listened as a succession of “religious leaders” ridiculed moderate Muslims and repeatedly justified war against the “kuffar” — non-Muslims.

    (...)

At their meetings — which often included school-age teenagers — they were fed a constant diet of propaganda warning that the kuffar are out to destroy them.

Integration with British society is scorned, as is any form of democratic process. Followers are encouraged to exploit the benefits system. They avoid jobs which could bring them into contact with western women or might lead them to contribute to the economy of a nation they are taught to despise.

    (...)

The undercover reporter, who has a Muslim background, first approached the group as a potential convert in June, three weeks before the first London attack. Posing as a university graduate who was disaffected because he could not find a job, he introduced himself to members of the Saviour Sect (...)

The sect and its interchangeable sister organisation, Al-Ghuraaba, were created after Bakri claimed to have closed down his militant extremist group Al-Muhajiroun last October.

The activities of Al-Muhajiroun, which notoriously praised the September 11, 2001 hijackers as the “Magnificent 19”, had been extensively investigated by anti-terrorist police. However, as The Sunday Times discovered, the Saviour Sect and Al-Ghuraaba were Al-Muhajiroun in all but name.

The sect came to prominence during the general election in April when it launched an intimidatory campaign against fellow Muslims to stop them voting. They were captured on film yelling and attacking members at a meeting of the mainstream Muslim Council of Britain.
Bakri was the star attraction that night. Under bright fluorescent lights, he preached to the 50-strong audience about the need for a violent struggle to defend Muslims who, he claimed, were under constant attack.
George Galloway, the Respect party MP for Bethnal Green, east London, claimed that they made death threats against him when they disrupted one of his election campaign meetings, shouting him down as a “false prophet”. (...)

They invited the reporter to attend one of their meetings that evening. It was to be the first of many lectures and sermons that he attended. (...) minutes Muhid, 22, was explaining that most new recruits were former heroin addicts who had found salvation.

Another man, Nasser, (...) implored our reporter to “unlearn” the brand of Islam that he had been taught as a child and to adopt a new approach.

It was important to be unemployed, Nasser said, as taking a job would contribute to the kuffar system.

He said he was receiving a jobseeker’s allowance and justified this by saying the prophet Muhammad also lived off the state and attacked it at the same time.

There were other ways to opt out. “All the brothers drive without insurance,” Nasser said proudly.

Bakri (...) preached to the 50-strong audience about the need for a violent struggle to defend Muslims who, he claimed, were under constant attack.

With a new member in the audience, he added carefully that he was not actually “inciting anyone to violence in the UK”. But the violence was not far away. The following afternoon the reporter witnessed an Asian man being beaten by members of the Saviour Sect for “insulting” their version of Islam.

(...) Up to seven members of the sect jumped on the man and began kicking him as he lay on the floor. A late intervention by one of the other stallholders gave him the opportunity to escape — his face swollen and bleeding.

Unabashed, one of group, dressed in an Arabic shawl, shouted out to onlookers: “You should not feel sorry for him. He is a kuffar and deserves it.” (...)

Later that day it emerged that the man who had been assaulted had been a member of the moderate Young Muslim Organisation and was also a supporter of Galloway’s Respect party.

On July 3, Sheikh Omar Brooks of Al-Ghuraaba addressed the group at its Saturday night lecture.

(...) He said that it was imperative for Muslims to “instil terror into the hearts of the kuffar”.

(...) It was not just our reporter’s group who were present. Schoolchildren in T-shirts bearing the words “mujaheddin” and “warriors of Allah” listened intently as Brooks said he did not wish to die “like an old woman” in bed.

“I want to be blown into pieces,” he declared, “with my hands in one place and my feet in another.”

He told the audience that it was a Muslim’s duty to stay apart from the rest of society: “Never mix with them. Never let your children play with their children.”
He added: “This hall is like our fortress against the kuffar and the so-called Muslims like the McB (the Muslim Council of Britain).”

Warming to his theme, he said: “They will build bridges and we will break them; they will build tall buildings and we will bring them down.” The audience rippled with laughter at the obvious reference to September 11, 2001.

Nasser’s brother, “Mr Islam” — believed to be Islam Uddin — (...) told the audience that Islam was a religion of violence and that Muhammad was the “prophet of slaughter, not peace”. He said Muslims must not be defeatist as “even now the brothers in Iraq are sending British, American and Iraqi colluders back in body bags”.

As his three-year-old son played at his side, he launched into a bitter racist attack. The Jews, he said, were “the most disgusting and greedy people on earth”.

Four days after this meeting, on July 7, London was hit by the first wave of suicide bombings. Immediately the spotlight was thrown onto extremist Muslim groups and, in particular, those linked to Bakri.

The sheikh avoided difficult questions about the attacks by refusing to answer his telephone. He advised all his followers to do the same in the case they incriminated themselves. The sect closed down its meetings and stopped leaflet campaigns, fearing reprisals.

While he was saying nothing publicly, Bakri did, however, address a private meeting held for prayers at the Selby Centre in Wood Green, north London.

Before the prayers started, our reporter joined a small group of men (...) in a circle with Bakri.

Bakri sighed. “So, London under attack,” he said. Then, leaning forward, he added: “Between us, for the past 48 hours I’m very happy.”

In his sermon during the prayer meeting he said that the July 7 attacks would make people “stand up and listen”.

Turning to concerns that “poor” people had been attacked in the bus bomb, he argued that this was permissible because the British Army was drawn from lower-income groups.

The congregation was instructed to avoid expressing disapproval of the attacks. “If you cannot support what has happened, then at least don’t condemn it,” Bakri said. If anyone were to ask what they felt about it, they should answer that as Muslims they have no “feelings”, “ideas” or “personal judgment”.

A member of the congregation who had brought along his two children told the reporter after the sermon that the British could now feel the fear experienced every day by Muslims. Another said that the bombs were “a good start” and asked Allah to “bless those involved”.

The extent of the indoctrination of the members of the Saviour Sect became even clearer during the two weeks in July which saw the failed second attempt to bomb the London transport system.

During the twice-weekly lectures and Friday prayers, men who had struggled to find jobs and, in some cases, had drifted into drug abuse, were told that as true believers they were better than non-Muslims.

“The toe of the Muslim brothers is better than all the kuffar on the earth,“ Bakri said in one sermon. “Islam is superior, nothing supersedes it and the Muslim is superior.”

Other regular speakers claimed that Islam was constantly under attack in Britain — and that the best form of defence was attack.

One, who called himself Zachariah, claimed that the kuffar were trying to “wipe out (Muslims) from the face of the earth”. He implored the group “to cover the land with our blood through martyrdom, martyrdom, martyrdom”.

Zachariah preached that the non-believers were dispensable: “They’re kuffar. They’re not people who are innocent. The people who are innocent are the people who are with us or those who are living under the Islamic state.”

Another preacher, Abu Yahya, who is also reported to go by the name of Abdul Rahman Saleem, (...) said: “It says in the Koran that we must try as much as we can to terrorise the enemy . . . we terrorise those people who terrorise us.” His message to Britain was: “Because you’re a genuine democracy, all of you are liable.”

(...) Nasser told our reporter not to worry about those who died in the London attacks. They were, he said, “collateral damage” and they were kuffar anyway.

This is not, of course, something that they would say in public. When Bakri finally commented publicly on the bomb attacks, he condemned the deaths of “innocents”. But this was not quite the remorse it seemed.

At Friday prayers, (...) in the preamble to the sermon he referred to the bombers as the “fantastic four”. He explained that his lament for the “innocent” applied only to Muslims. It was a linguistic sleight of hand which he summarised as: “Yes I condemn killing any innocent people, but not any kuffar.”

In the wake of the bombings, politicians and police have become increasingly concerned that groups such as the Saviour Sect are radicalising disaffected young men into potential terrorists.

On Friday the prime minister said that the successor groups of Al-Muhajiroun, including the Saviour Sect, could be banned under new anti-terrorist proposals.

At a hastily arranged press conference in Chingford, Essex, in response to the proposals, Bakri said the Al-Muhajiroun group had never supported terror attacks in the UK.

(...) . Zachariah weighed in with a new bloodcurdling sermon at Friday prayers at the Selby Centre.

(...) “Tony Blair is a Christian. He went to the Pope to praise him . . . and he went to Iraq for only one reason. Because of his ancestors who worked so hard to destroy Islam from the face of the earth.

“To dismantle Islam. To divide and rule . . . him and his ancestors worked hard from the crusaders in the beginning and then their empire building, installing their proxy leaders.”

Hamdi Issac might be freed thanks to new Italian anti-terror law

Today's London's Times informs us about the intention of Antonietta Sonnessa, Hamdi Issac's lawyer, to exploit the new anti-terror law in order to get his liberation.
Lawyer Sonnessa's trial strategy implies the possibility of her client to get the status of collaborator of justice, of being "repented". That would grant him the opening of the jail gates, a permanent visa, a new identity and a new life.

Should this strategy not work, it might still be a useful tactic to extremely slow down the extradition process towards the UK, thus keeping her client in the country he loves so much that he asked not to be extradited.

Some web sites ban users from Israel

A number of internet storage sites have begun banning Israeli surfers from accessing their services, saying that "unsuitable" behavior has forced them to block IP addresses from Israel.

They state that the majority of their Israeli users have an abusive behavior, not abiding their terms of service by breaking copyright laws and uploading porn media files.
The web sites unreachable from Israel include 100WebSpace, Putfile.com and eNom.com.

Italian Communist Newspaper "Il Manifesto" thinks John Bolton is a "KILLLER" (with 3 L's)

(Title: "A KILLLER at the U.N.")

Here below you can also see when "Il Manifesto" thought, on Nov. 3rd 2004, that John Kerry won Presidential elections:

(Title: "Good morning America With a landslide vote Americans kick Bush away from White House")

Or when "Il Manifesto" played with Photoshop and faked a story:

Caption: "Deadly mission aganist Palestinians in Nazareth: Israelis shoot and kill inside houses. So a bloody Yom Kippur ends in Israel and the Territories".

Same day, different newspaper, "La Repubblica", same photo, not photoshopped:

Caption: "Palestinian protesters throw stones against Israeli soldiers in Ramallah"

    Links: Camillo, Livio Senigallesi.

These are some examples of the inaccuracy and bias of this extreme left-wing yet popular Italian newspaper.

"Jews are poisoning our bananas !"

Please don't laugh at this !!

This imam told his Australian students not to eat bananas because Jews poisoned them.
